Tres Leches Cake

🌍 Mexican

The most beautiful, incredibly juicy cake that looks delicious. We will make the cake, the syrup to soak our biscocho, the frosting on top, and some decoration.

📍 Mexico

The story of the dish

Tres leches cake originated in Mexico, likely in the mid-20th century, inspired by European sponge cakes but adapted using three types of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and heavy cream. It was popularized in Mexican bakeries and households, where it is typically served chilled as a dessert, often topped with fresh fruit or whipped cream. The dessert gained wider international recognition through Mexican restaurants and cookbooks in the latter half of the 20th century.

The name: The name 'Tres Leches' means 'three milks' in Spanish, referring to the three types of milk used in the recipe.
